About a Girl Who Loves to Read

And so it begins! I’ve wanted to write a blog for a while now, but I've had the hardest time narrowing down what I wanted to say or how I wanted to say it. So I decided to give myself a buffer…books. I've always loved to read and, since finishing my English degree, have found I really miss studying books.  So for those of you who have not had the *privilege* of hearing me talk about this blog for weeks, let me fill you in. I've picked out 100 pieces of literature ranging from books to short stories to plays to poems that I will read. Some of these pieces I've already read, but the majority I haven't yet. I plan to read one book per week and once I've finished I'll share my thoughts here each Saturday. Be expecting a review of The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood this week because it is up first!!
I also want this blog to be a place I can connect with people and share some of my other favorite things. I've written my "About Me" section for those of you who want to hear more about my story, but I also thought it might be fun to share a few random tidbits about myself here. I can almost guarantee the people who are reading this already know the basics about me, so I hope I can throw in a few facts that still might offer a bit of a surprise! I will do my best to keep in interesting :)
1. I love a good list…if you couldn’t already tell.

2. I’m a huge fan of Trager Hintze. You’ll get to hear all about that handsome guy tomorrow.

3. If I'm using crayons, I'm looking for the Cerulean. And no, I don't use crayons very often.

4. I'm not big into ice cream which is a travesty to my husband (the-ice-cream-lover.) If I do have some ice cream it is almost always Blue Bell Rocky Road...only Blue Bell. I'm not about that marshmallow swirl life.

5. Pride and Prejudice is my all time favorite book. Like ever. (Cliche maybe...but I don't care....I can't help it!)

6. I haven't read all of the Harry Potter books. *and all my credibility as a reader goes out the window* It's on the list people! I promise!

7. If I could travel anywhere in the world it would have be to Ireland. Did anyone else fall in love with it after seeing Hilary Swank wander around with Gerard Butler in P.S. I Love You or was that just me??

8. My real 1st choice place to travel would be Italy, but I felt like #5 was cliche enough for this list, but I told you anyway. Oh well!

9. I'm the girl who is constantly holding other people's babies. I blame genetics for this one because my mom and sisters are all the same way!

10. I almost always use the Oxford comma.

And that's all I got :)

More to come tomorrow...
